Play the same jigsaw puzzle twice? That sounds crazy!
Have you ever solved the same Jigsaw puzzle twice? Three times? Or five times? If you are wondering why people play a jigsaw puzzle more than once, let me share why some people do play puzzles again and again (and other players don’t.)
Speed Puzzling Requires Repetition
Many people who aren’t in the speed puzzling world don’t realize that more you play jigsaw puzzles, the better you become. In particular, if you play a certain brand or design of a puzzle, you will become even faster. Thanks to your brain working overtime, you begin to remember where pieces fit naturally and those repetitional placements get stuck in your mind. Believe it or not, as a speed puzzle lover, I’d recommend you play the same jigsaw puzzle twice or more, especially if you know the brand you will be competing with at a puzzle competition.
Does Solving a Jigsaw Puzzle Twice Help Your Puzzle Play?
Repetition can be incredibly helpful for improving your puzzle-solving skills, especially as you’re just starting out on your puzzling journey. Think of it like any other activity you’re learning, it takes practice to get better, and jigsaw puzzles are no exception. As you engage in puzzle play more frequently, you’ll start to notice patterns and develop strategies that work best for you. Use the same puzzle and even though you have played it before, you will start to look at puzzles differently.

One of the fantastic things about repetition in puzzle play is that it helps you become more familiar with the process. You’ll start to recognize common shapes, colors, and patterns within the pieces, making it easier to find where they fit together. The first time you played the jigsaw puzzle, you might not have seen a strategy. The next time, when you play the jigsaw puzzle twice, you see how you can do things faster and efficiently.
If you decided to play the same jigsaw puzzle more than twice, you will find that you can complete it faster each time. For me, the sixth time I complete a jigsaw puzzle, that time of completion is less than half than the first time. I like to describe it as training my brain but it’s really speed puzzling practice. I’m trying to remember where pieces, images and areas are found yet the more I do it, the easier it becomes.
Additionally, repetition allows you to experiment with different techniques and approaches to puzzle solving. You’ll learn what works well for you and what doesn’t, refining your strategies along the way. I’ve been working on a formula that if you play the same jigsaw puzzle twice you can see how to increase your speed. Over time, you’ll become faster and more efficient at assembling the pieces, making the puzzling experience even more enjoyable. So playing the same jigsaw puzzle twice is a good idea!
Who Wants to do the Same Puzzle Twice?
Jigsaw puzzle players definitely do want to consider playing the same puzzle twice. However if you are a speed puzzler, a jigsaw puzzle hobbyist or even a fan of a certain image, you will find that the entertainment of playing the same puzzle is fun. It’s an opportunity in challenge yourself further in game play and the jigsaw puzzle becomes more entertaining every time.
